Welcome to Silent Exploration
Hello, I would first like to welcome you to Silent Exploration and introduce myself, Richard Lock. I have been involved in Trimix and Rebreather diving since 2001 and became an instructor on both the Inspiration and Evolution rebreathers in early 2005 and teach both PSA and IANTD.
Over the last 5 years I have been lucky enough to have dived some of the best wrecks around the UK, Ireland and France and it is now my aim through Silent Exploration to introduce more people to rebreather diving as I firmly believe that it is the future of both recreational and technical diving.

Where courses are run
Courses can be run from a varity of locations, however, primarily courses are run in Plymouth onboard the dive boat Seeker. I am a firm believer that all courses especially trimix courses should be run where possible in conditions similar to those in which diving activities normally take place. Running courses from quarries makes it impossible to simulate the saline environment including tides/wind and associated sea state which can make sea diving so challenging yet extremly rewarding.
However sometimes the British weather makes it impossible for courses to be run/completed in Plymouth and luckily the National Diving Centre at Chepstow is only 2 hours away and allows the completion of courses regardless of weather conditions. Any course can also be run from Loyal Watcher in conjunction with a dive holiday in locations such as the Scyllies, Normandy, or for OC/CC trimix Malin Head, Ireland.
Diving Expeditions with Silent Exploration
The reason I began diving in the mid 90's was to explore and that is still a force that drives me on. For the last 4 years I have been involved in dives exploring the many wrecks out of Plymouth especially now since Steve Wright has bought and is now running Seeker. We are now working methodically through the many wreck marks he has gained from the Hydrographic office as well as the local fisherman in Plymouth.
2006 was a good year with several wrecks being identified and lots of brass being recovered, as well as several targets being identified for further diving in 2007 some of which will be explored on the 3 days trips that I have booked with Steve on Seeker over the coming year.
I am also organising expeditions out side the UK some of the destinations being France, Lebanon, and Southern Ireland, datails of which can all be found within the expeditions pages.
